Today, United Capital Fertilizer Zambia Company Limited (UCF) and the Tanzania Fertilizer Company (TFC) signed a significant contract for the procurement of 61,000 tons of NPK fertilizer for the 2024/2025 tobacco farming season.
The agreement was finalized on August 23, 2024, by TFC’s Managing Director, Mr. Samwel Mshote, and Wonderful Group and UCF’s CEO, Mr. Huang Yaochi, with key management present, including Hon. Hussein Bashe (Minister of Agriculture), Dr. Suleiman Serera (Deputy Permanent Secretary), Mr. Joel Laurent (Executive Director of TFRA), Mr Roy Mwamba (Deputy CEO, Wonderful Group) and Mr. Stanley Mnozya (Director General of the Tobacco Board).
This partnership enhances Zambia’s export potential while ensuring Tanzanian tobacco farmers have access to high-quality fertilizer, ultimately improving crop yields and supporting economic growth in both countries.
The fertilizers are set to arrive in Tanzania starting August 26, 2024, and comply with TFRA standards, reinforcing agricultural productivity in the region.
