UCF’s Filyo Urea Fertilizers
Urea is an nitrogen based and one of the most commonly used straight fertilizers in Southern Africa. It is well suited to most soils and climatic conditions in Southern African countries.
UCF’s Lico NPK (Nitrogen, Potassium & Phosphate) Fertilizers
NPK is a compound based fertilizer which provides three essential nutrients for plants. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, or NPK, are the “Big 3” primary nutrients in commercial fertilizers. Each of these fundamental nutrients plays a key role in plant nutrition. Nitrogen is considered to be the most important nutrient, and plants absorb more nitrogen than any other element.
UCF’s Kosha DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) Fertilizers
Di-ammonium Phosphate popularly known as DAP is a preferred compound fertilizer in Zambia because it contains both Nitrogen and Phosphorus which are primary macro-nutrients and part of 18 essential plant nutrients. DAP fertilizer is an excellent source of P and nitrogen (N) for plant nutrition. It’s highly soluble and thus dissolves quickly in soil to release plantavailable phosphate and ammonium. A notable property of DAP is the alkaline pH that develops around the dissolving granule.
UCF’s Mabaya CAN (Calcium Ammonium Nitrate) Fertilizers
Most calcium ammonium nitrate is used as a fertilizer. Fertilizer grade CAN contains roughly 8% calcium and 21-27% nitrogen. CAN is preferred for use on acid soils, as it acidifies soil less than many common nitrogen fertilizers. It is also used in place of ammonium nitrate where ammonium nitrate is not available.
